About the Society

The International Society for Buddhist Philosophy (ISBP) was founded in 2001 in order to promote scholarly exchange of diverse aspects of Buddhist philosophy.

From 2001 to 2003, the Society held an annual meeting in which members of the Society exchanged their recent scholarship.

In 2004, the Society earned an affiliated group status in the American Philosophical Association (Eastern Division) and began hosting panels at the APA annual meeting.
